Questions customers ask before buying
Is the Cold Brew actually different from iced coffee?
Yes. Cold Brew uses low-pressure extraction with room-temperature/cooler water to develop a smoother profile. Iced Coffee and Iced Espresso are separate recipes.
Are both milk carafes included?
Yes. Eletta Explore is designed around both LatteCrema Hot and LatteCrema Cool, so hot and cold automatic milk foam are part of the system.
Can it use plant-based milk?
Yes. De’Longhi supports milk alternatives with LatteCrema Hot & Cool. Use them cold; barista formulations usually give more stable foam.
What does Bean Adapt do?
Bean Adapt guides optimization of brewing parameters for the beans you are using rather than forcing one generic extraction setup for every roast.
Can I make coffee directly into a travel mug?
Yes. A travel mug is included, and De’Longhi lists 15 hot/cold recipes compatible with the to-go format, with beverages up to about 16 oz.

1. How long does Cold Brew take?
Current De’Longhi Canada material describes Cold Brew as ready in minutes; the exact recipe/time can vary by current machine revision and beverage. The key distinction is genuine low-pressure Cold Extraction rather than a hot espresso simply poured over ice.
2. Can I make custom recipes?
Yes. Recipes can be personalized, and current connected versions support custom recipe work through the Coffee Link app.
3. Can I use pre-ground coffee?
Yes, for occasional single preparations using the dedicated pre-ground function.
4. Can it make two coffees at once?
Twin-shot preparation is available for compatible coffee recipes; automatic milk drinks are prepared individually.
5. Are removable parts dishwasher-safe?
De’Longhi identifies removable parts as dishwasher-safe. Continue using the automatic milk-cleaning cycles and periodic deeper cleaning.
6. Why would I buy this over Rivelia?
Eletta Explore has a much larger hot/cold menu, true Cold Brew, Hot & Cool milk systems included, Bean Adapt and a stronger to-go/connected ecosystem. Rivelia is smaller, simpler and uniquely convenient for switching between two bean hoppers.
7. What should I buy for maintenance?
EcoDecalk and compatible water filters are the main consumables. Regular milk-carafe cleaning and rinsing the removable brew group are essential preventive care.
8. What is the Canadian warranty?
De’Longhi Canada has listed this model with a 2-year manufacturer warranty plus an additional year through qualifying registration. Keep your receipt and register the machine.
9. Why does one “cold” drink use hot espresso while another uses Cold Extraction?
On Eletta Explore, not every cold-labelled recipe is a Cold Brew recipe. Drinks explicitly built on “Cold Brew” use Cold Extraction; other iced recipes may intentionally brew hot coffee over ice. That distinction explains why two cold-menu drinks can behave very differently.
10. Why does my cold latte taste watery?
Too much melting ice, a large milk ratio or a low-strength coffee setting can dilute the drink. Use the intended ice amount, increase aroma/intensity and choose a richer milk if needed before assuming the machine is under-extracting.
11. Can I adjust milk temperature separately?
The normal user adjustment is coffee temperature and milk-foam level; the LatteCrema system manages milk heating automatically. Do not expect the same independent milk-temperature control found on some manual/automatic steam-wand systems.
12. Why do I get “reduce intensity” or a failed-brew message after setting the grinder very fine?
The puck may be restricting flow. Move the grinder one step coarser while it is operating and test several drinks before changing it again. Very fine settings are not automatically better.
13. Does the Coffee Link app have to be used?
No. The machine can be operated from its touchscreen. The app adds connected personalization, recipe exploration and some setup/support functions.
14. What should I check if the app is not connecting?
Confirm Bluetooth/Wi‑Fi permissions and that the phone and machine are following the pairing instructions for your region/model. Restart the app and machine before deleting profiles or resetting the coffee machine.
15. Can I use semi-skim, whole milk or only skim for cold foam?
Milk fat/protein content changes cold-foam volume and texture. De’Longhi often recommends specific colder/lower-fat options for maximum foam, but owners also use other dairy and plant milks successfully. Use fridge-cold milk and judge the result by texture.
16. How large a travel drink can it make?
The To-Go workflow supports selected recipes up to roughly 16 oz, depending on the beverage. Use a cup that fits under the spout and follow the machine’s To-Go size guidance.
17. How do I make an iced milk drink taste stronger?
Increase coffee intensity, reduce milk/ice dilution or add an additional coffee/Cold Brew component where the recipe allows. This is a common owner adjustment because large cold milk drinks can taste softer than hot cappuccinos.
18. What if milk stops flowing from the carafe?
Clean the lid, intake tube, milk spout and connector thoroughly, then reassemble the carafe. Dried milk residue or an incorrectly seated component is a common cause before a hardware fault.
